Recently, the 4th graders were able to attend the St. Louis Art Museum's Arts in the Basic Curriculum program. For four weeks, they visited the museum and toured it under the direction of a docent. Each student received a sketch book and had the opportunity to sketch various paintings and sculptures. The program enhanced the student's thinking and creativity through viewing, discussion, and making personal meanings of works of art. The students were excited about each trip and were encouraged to visit the museum with their families.
