What Happened in June

With summer in full swing (and a silent blog), you may think OLS is hibernating.  On the contrary, our school and parish have been plenty busy since classes ended last month.  A sample of what we've been up to:

OLS Night at Busch Stadium:  OLS families joined with friends from St. Joan of Arc to watch the Cardinals take a decisive victory over the Dodgers.

OLS Parish Picnic:  We couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate with family, friends, alumni, and neighbors.  After a terrific parade featuring the OLS band, families enjoyed rides, food, games, and live entertainment under a bluebird sky.

The Lego Movie kicked off the Summer Movie Series:  Kids were excited to meet up with their friends for a fun, free family movie in Faenger Hall.  If you missed this installment of the Summer Movie Series, don't fret!  You can catch up with us in July for The Sandlot. More details coming soon.

Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts:  Our scouts are active this summer, too!  The Girl Scouts worked to make signs for the parade and enjoyed a week of day camp at Willmore Park.  The Cub Scouts gathered at Willmore on Father's Day for an afternoon of fishing.

OLStars:  Many students are participating in this year's OLStars performance.  They've spent the last 6 weeks rehearsing Tony award-winning songs, and they are ready to perform this weekend!  Catch them live in Faenger Hall tonight and Saturday at 7:30 or on Sunday at 2:00.

What a great start to summer!

Parish Visioning Day: 6/7/15

While the pastor is away, the people will:

A. Play
B. Pray
C. Have a Visioning Day
D. All of the Above

If you guessed D, you are right!
On Sunday, June 7th, Our Lady of Sorrows is setting aside time to Renew & Rejoice, and all are invited!  We will rejoice in all of the things that make our parish great, and we will look ahead to see how we can renew our parish in the years to come.  Plan to attend this event from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on June 7th.
